HRW FabLab and IoT lab

We are developing a new type of exoskeleton that uses intelligent control and automatic adjustment to enable the user to handle loads weighing up to 20 kg almost weightlessly. Thanks to the HRW FabLab, we were able to develop and improve our prototypes efficiently. Access to modern technology such as 3D printing and laser cutters was crucial for the rapid implementation and optimization of our idea. 

We deal with interactive projection solutions. This allows us to enhance various three-dimensional objects with digital content and thus create new ways of human-technology interaction. The FabLab enables us to build new prototypes and provides us with new specialist input thanks to the very broad-based team. 

Plantforge focuses on sustainable, urban food production and brings fresh herbs, microgreens and vegetables directly into the city. With innovative indoor systems, we grow plants in existing buildings in metropolitan regions such as the Ruhr area and offer an environmentally friendly, regional alternative to conventional agriculture. The HRW Fablab supported us in the initial phase of developing a proof-of-concept prototype. This enabled us to create a growing box with full environmental control, which is now being used for smaller product tests.
