You will receive practical training for your future in
e-commerce.

what you can expect

What to expect, the online business is growing rapidly. Shopping via mobile apps or on social media channels such as YouTube is not uncommon. But what is behind an online shop?

Online retail is only a small part of e-commerce. Online communication, sales and marketing, payment processes, marketing and design are other important components. Along the digital purchasing process, students deal with all the important subject areas.

The degree programme at the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences is one of the few, especially in the west of Germany, that provides training relevant to the profession and explicitly for online retail.

Programme content

E-commerce is a highly dynamic subject and combines computer science with business elements: for example, programming and web technologies with finance and commercial theory as well as marketing.

What our students say

Study e-commerce!

"I'm studying e-commerce because I want to work on projects with companies. I'm interested in online retail, social media marketing, but also how to programme my own website. The degree programme combines business studies with computer science. Previous knowledge is not essential and, if I need help, I ask our professors or fellow students. One particularly positive aspect for me was the prospect of a well-paid job, which I really enjoy. Especially in North Rhine-Westphalia, graduates of the degree programme are urgently needed."
