Central equalisation

Equal opportunities at the HRW is committed to equal opportunities for women who study or are employed at the HRW. The central Equal Opportunities Officer supports and advises the university management as well as the various committees and organisational units and thus works towards fulfilling the statutory equal opportunities mandate.
Our tasks
Supporting appointment and staffing procedures
Advising the university management on strategic decisions and the fulfilment of the equal opportunities mandate in accordance with the State Equal Opportunities Act
Participation in all central committees of the university and in the creation and evaluation of equality plans
The development and implementation of gender equality programmes, campaigns and concepts
Counselling
Our core tasks also include advising students and employees in cases of sexualised discrimination or violence at the university. In addition, various colleagues are available for advice, for example on improving the work-life balance or for individual psychological counselling.

We are also involved in many other areas and offer you a wide range of services and support.
For example:
- Events such as the VIVA LA GENDER event series
- Workshops for students, for example on financial retirement planning for women
- Exchange and networking events such as our regular cinema evenings
readings - Training and further education on topics relevant to gender equality
Within the departments, the Equal Opportunities Officers support the development of their department.

The Equal Opportunities Officers of the departments:
Are involved in all personnel measures in their department
Contribute to the neutral selection of personnel for a vacant position in their area of specialisation based on the quality of training and the skills of the applicants
Have the right to attend, propose and speak in the Faculty Council and in the QVK. They must be invited and informed in the same way as a member
Advises the university management on the design of departmental development plans and the women's advancement plan as well as on tasks relevant to gender equality and women in the department
Work closely with the central Equal Opportunities Officer
