Together for the HRW

Presidium

Praesidium

We are the Executive Board of Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences

Together with all members of the university, we create the right framework conditions for all students and employees of HRW so that they can seize opportunities for their personal development. As enthusiastic and enthusiastic employees and students, we stand for an HRW with critically thinking members who find solutions and advance issues.

We divide the upcoming tasks in the Executive Board as follows:

Susanne Staude Hochschule Ruhr west Präsidentin

Prof.in Dr. Susanne Staude

President

‘With the presidential colleges, I would like to further develop the university and build on existing strengths. In the coming years, we will continue to pursue our vision of being a university of opportunities - in particular, we will support and strengthen prospective students from marginalised groups that have previously been less represented at universities. We will achieve this with a wide range of guidance and support services, future-oriented teaching methods, interdisciplinary degree programme concepts, service-oriented processes, creative colleagues and qualified graduates who can be proud of their achievements and who are in demand in companies. This is HRW's contribution to tackling the shortage of skilled labour in STEM and business subjects.’

Jörn Hohenhaus

Dr. Jörn Hohenhaus

Chancellor

‘As a young university, HRW has a special opportunity to utilise its diverse potential and implement forward-looking perspectives in teaching and research in line with its vision. The employees of the service area contribute to the achievement of the university's and departments' goals with their consistent service orientation, process-orientated actions and self-confidence. Continuous personnel and organisational development creates and maintains skills in a changing working environment.’

Susanne Winter

Prof.in Dr. Susanne Winter

Vice President for Studies and Teaching

‘A university thrives on the many creative ideas and the realisation power of many different stakeholders. My goal is to work together to shape the further development of study and teaching at HRW. It is particularly exciting to effectively combine the advantages of the digitalisation of teaching with the benefits of our established face-to-face formats. Corona has also taught us how essential scientific understanding is. By creating a strong link between science and teaching, we at HRW can make an important contribution to this.’

Oliver Koch

Prof. Dr. Oliver Koch

Vice President for Research and Transfer

‘Our university uses research activities to document its innovative strength and future-orientation for the region and beyond. Networking with companies, schools and other institutions in the region ensures that both our education and our research activities are tailored to the needs of the region. Research-orientated teaching and the involvement of students in research projects make our graduates valuable employees.’

Arne Eimuth

Prof. Dr. Arne Eimuth

Vice President for University Development and Management

‘We are taking innovative paths to lead our university into a sustainably secure future in line with our vision. This includes having the courage to try out new things, continuously scrutinise existing concepts and constantly adapt our processes to new requirements. Together with all members of the university, we want to further strengthen HRW's strengths and develop and implement the necessary strategies. In addition, we are establishing structures and processes that provide the necessary information and support us as a university in making evidence-based decisions.’
