Energy and water - at the epicenter of climate change discussions

Energy and water are the most important resources of our future! We need specialists who take care of them ecologically and economically.

In a group of a maximum of 60 students per year, you will receive all the basic business courses.
But that's not all: using current issues from the energy and water sector as examples, you will learn how to apply your basic business knowledge in practice and which aspects are particularly relevant in practice.

In addition, you will get a feel for the various job profiles in the energy and water sector, particularly as part of our lecture series. You will recognize which future professional activities might appeal to you and how you can qualify accordingly through elective modules and internships.

What you need to bring along

  • Language level C1 is required and the language of instruction is German.
  • General or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification
  • Alternatively: entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or a qualification recognized as equivalent in the course of professional qualification

Application process

The application phase for the approval-free Bachelor’s degree programmes for the coming winter semester begins on 01. May 2025 and ends on 15. September 2025. Applications can only be submitted online via our application portal.

Lea Preis came to Mülheim from Hamburg for her studies. She studied Energy and Water Management at the HRW from 2013 to 2017. Following her Bachelor's degree, she completed her Master's in Industrial Engineering - Energy Systems at Campus Bottrop in 2019. Since April 2020, she has been working as a project manager in the innovation team at items GmbH, an IT service provider in the municipal energy industry.
