Problem Statement

The growth and globalization of the modern world economy have led to an increase in the intensity of goods flows. The rising complexity of computer-based control and monitoring systems for the processes involved necessitates intelligent real-time support. Currently, it is essential to mitigate the impact of urban traffic due to its detrimental effects on climate and the environment, thereby enhancing sustainability. Previous studies have demonstrated that optimizing vehicle routing can result in substantial economic savings, estimated between 5% and 30%. Potentially, methods of artificial intelligence offer the most effective means to optimize the management of goods flows. Specifically, these methods can process large volumes of data, such as those generated by real-time traffic conditions. The results of this project contribute to the advancement of the Smart Mobility concept, aimed at enhancing the viability and sustainability of urban areas. This initiative does not only promote economic sustainability for businesses but also improves the quality of life for urban populations. The project focuses on establishing foundational knowledge that could eventually be technically implemented in real-world scenarios.
