Zero tolerance for discrimination
Anti-discrimination centre / complaints office according to § 13 AGG
Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences (HRW) cultivates a culture of diversity, tolerance and respect for ethnicities, genders, religions and different lifestyles. It sees itself as an educational institution and imparts knowledge and attitudes to its students; at the same time, it is a place of work for different status groups in teaching, research, technology and administration.
The HRW is proud of the diversity of its students and employees and benefits from their diverse life experiences in all areas of the institution.

Training and employment relationships create dependencies where it can never be completely ruled out that they will be exploited or abused. HRW does not tolerate such behaviour. The HRW is committed to a culture of respect and appreciation for students, early career researchers and academic and non-academic staff that is practised on a daily basis and has set up a permanent counselling and complaints office to promote respectful and professional interaction.
The Anti-Discrimination Office is responsible for counselling in cases of discrimination and can be used by all members of the HRW. It is also a complaints centre in accordance with § 13 AGG.
