IDM laboratory
The IDM laboratory
The IDM laboratory (from the german abbreviation IDM = “BWL – Industrielles Dienstleistungsmanagement" degree course) includes a series experimental set-ups that thematically address various aspects of the IDM degree course. The aim is to illustrate important aspects of facility management such as fire protection, occupational safety and individual trades.
Experiments in the laboratory
In the laboratory, the topic of “lighting”, which plays an important role in the professional workplace, is discussed by using a demonstration unit: What illuminance is required and how is this determined? How can disturbing reflections be avoided? A high-voltage test station, clearly enclosed by a stable protective cage, is used to familiarize students with test equipment used in industrial quality assurance. Voltages of up to 150,000 volts can be generated here and used to test the suitability of electrical insulating materials.
- High-voltage test station
- Model house for heat flow analysis
- Test stand on the subject of lighting
- Experiment on laboratory organization (operating instructions)
- Esbit stove for efficiency analysis
